We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children's paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as "1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan.
I've started using a cookbook I bought last spring. It's the kind where they have menus for the whole week (5 days/meals) and a grocery list for all the things you'll need to make those meals. The meals are simple enough for me (which has to be pretty simple. I am not an excellent cook.) and just the kind of food I grew up with. Filling, tasty, easy and without expensive ingredients.

These are the everyday meals that Christy Jordan most loves to cook, and her family most loves to eat, and she serves them up with generous helpings of her folksy wisdom, gratitude, and lively stories. This book has been an amazing blessing to my family. In some ways, it became my 'Titus 2 woman' as it helped me meal plan and cook dinners for my family. These are simple meals that you can adapt to your dietary needs with the idea of a busy homeschooling mom in mind. Whether you are looking for meal ideas or need a little guidance in the kitchen, you will enjoy this book.
I’d love to win the cookbook, especially for the easy one-dish and quick-fix meals. Divorced mom and work 40+ hours a week and lead a girl scout troop. By the time I get home, get laundry started, help with homework, etc. Would love something to help me with some easy ready to eat meals so we aren’t eating fast food or cereal for dinner.

The new cookbook is all about getting your family back to the table for delicious, budget-friendly, kid-pleasing recipes. She makes that slow cooker work for you, and also offers lots of easy, one-dish meals. You’ll be bringing everyone–including yourself–home to a great meal.
The biggest hindrance for me is coming up with creative recipes EVERYONE will eat. A "package" is made up of two or more items sold as a set, often for a reduced price. A listing of individual items that make up a package is provided on the package item's product detail page along with real-time item availability of those items. RETURNS are cheerfully accepted up to 30 days. We ship out within 1-2 business days and U.S. Standard Shipments usually arrive within 6-9 business days, Priority 3-6.
And despite what must have been some serious pain, her involuntary cooking hiatus was one the hardest parts of her recovery. “When I cook for my family, it is how I show them love, so it was really, really tough to not do that for so long,” she said. Crissybugsaid...That cookbook looks like it would be very helpful. I don't really mind cooking, but it is figuring out what I am going to cook that is the problem.
“So many people are finding themselves as adults and not knowing how to cook,” Jordan said. “So I started showing how to cook the recipes we grew up with, step by step with photos and explained in easy terms.” The Southern Plate cookbook is full of these classic dishes. “The fist cookbook had lots of desserts; in my house, we now eat dessert maybe a couple times a week, so this book doesn’t have as many.” And the book offers options and alternative ingredients. I’m busy with work, volunteering, kids’ homework, housework, and after-school activities.
The package item number is also listed at the bottom of your packing slip for reference. Please note that if your order ships in multiple boxes, package components may not all be in the same box. Package content is not flexible and cannot be modified. The recipes seem solid, combining straight forward preparations with fresh, mouth-watering ingredients. We’re given recipes from across the culinary spectrum, from Vietnamese noodle dishes to Italian peasant food.
Anyway, all that to say, I'd highly recommend this cookbook to any of you out there who are kitchen challenged like I am. I've even e-mailed Mrs. Masters for help when I had a question, and she was more than willing to provide advice and encouragement. You just try that with Mrs. Crocker and see how far you get. Finding simply, healthy meals that can be made quickly—between homework and evening activities.
I love this cookbook and it shows as it's falling apart. I've had it since 2011 or 12; when my mom saw it she wanted one. We have a large family and meal planning was a pain.
Qtpies7said...I got one like that, Flylady recommends it, Saving Dinner. She has a meal for the whole year, with foods by season, even. But it is too healthy for us to use all the time. I pick and choose recipes and some are out of this world good and others I wouldn't even dream of eating. There are LOTS and LOTS of days of eating mashed sweet potatoes, which I know my kids would not even touch willingly.

And not just how to get your spouse and kids to “come home to supper,” but why it is so important that you do. The author, Rachel Masters, is a stay-at-home mom of five and she sells the books directly from her website. She gives quite a few extra recipes and tips in the appendices of the book, like mixes, dairy-free recipes, freezer meals and more. Any item sold as a package on our website is identified by a unique alpha-numeric item number (such as "APH1AB").
